1I`m already a Project Manager, why do I need PMO Skills?

Even though they are functionally related, a project manager and a PMO are different. While a project manager is an individual taking care of a particular project from start to finish, a PMO is a team of specialists who work at an organizational level .

There are a number of differences between a PMO vs project manager role.

  •  The PMO serves as a central hub overseeing, standardising and streamlining project management processes across the organisation while providing support, tools and resources to project teams.
  • A project manager focuses on the successful execution of individual projects by planning, coordinating and controlling all aspects of the project, including budget, timeline and communication with clients and teams. The project manager ensures the project meets specific goals and objectives within the scope, time and resource constraints,.
  • Whereas the PMO fosters organisational efficiency and consistency.
